Day 28 — Active feeding by both adults; full clutch of 5 visible simultaneously

Through the overnight hours the female alternated between brooding bouts and leaving the chicks unattended in the cup. During uncovered stretches, 3–4 chicks were visible and largely still. Several clips from 01:34 through 03:03 show a second adult perched to the left of the nest — tagged as feeding events — though no chick gapes were confirmed in those IR frames, and it’s unclear whether food was transferred.

Chicks began gaping around 05:50–05:57, before color frames resumed. The male was clearly at the cup rim by 06:51, with 4 chicks gaping, and returned at roughly 07:07, 07:23, 07:35, and 07:45. The female fed independently at 07:47, 08:10, and 09:34; both adults were present simultaneously at 08:38–08:39. Feeding continued at a regular pace through the afternoon and into evening — confirmed male visits at 10:32, 11:27, 13:34, 14:29, 15:08, 15:51, 16:13, 16:48, 17:39, and 18:40, with the female also appearing at several of those bouts. The female was brooding consistently by around 20:42 and held position through much of the late night.

Chicks are consistently described in afternoon clips as well-feathered and crowding the cup. Seed husks and fecal debris are noted around the cup starting around 07:42 and appear in clips throughout the rest of the day.

Clips at 07:57, 09:34, and 12:33 each recorded 5 chicks visible simultaneously in the nest cup — consistent with the full clutch of 5 all present and accounted for.
